BREED NOTES FOR CIRNECO DELL'ETNA

WELKS this year was judged by Dr. Monica Boggia-Black with an entry of 16. Unfortunately we were not in the ring until 4.30pm by which time it started getting cold.

Best Dog and Best Import was Hadranensis Remo. Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex was Anharbn White Wedding.

I have to have a good moan here about the extortionate cost of entries and wonder if any show societies will take notice. Why are we paying the same amount to enter the Import classes of which we get some judges who have probably only looked at the breed standard (if at all) just prior to judging and the Best Import has no place in the group ring? The same entry fee is charged for AVNSC and breed classes without CC's and they are not only entitled to enter the group but also have a shot at Best in Show. To add to this, the Import Register classes are being judged later this year twice in two weeks by the same judge..now come on, is this fair?

I realise that we do not have to enter but considering how few of us there are and how far we are prepared to travel, this is getting too expensive to take lightly.

On a more sombre note, I am pleased to say that Anharbn White Rose for Mwenga owned in partnership between Toni and Micheal Agnew and Danny Cullen had Best Import Register bitch at the Hound Association of Scotland under judge Tom Johnson. Hazel has ALSO now been assessed as a PAT dog 'Pets As Therapy' which is a great achievement and a first for the breed in the UK.

The Cirneco dell Etna club AGM notice has now been sent out via email, if any members have not received it, please contact the Secretary by email asap.

The young male in Scotland is still looking for a new home, if anyone can offer a permanent, loving home please contact Christine Campbell via the website.
