BREED NOTES FOR CIRNECO DELL'ETNA

At SKC the import classes were judged by Jenny Startup with a great entry of Cirnechi along with the other breeds currently listed as imports.
It was unfortunate that not all were present due to the very sad death of Ian Campbell of Anpusharian Hounds.
Anharbn Yellow Bird won the puppy class of 3 exhibits and was reserve best dog to Anharbn White Tiger who also won Best Import Register, his second this year.
Anharbn White Wedding was Best Bitch and Reserve Best Import, her 3rd such win.
It was nice to see another of the R litter from Jane Moore in the ring in the puppy class, Hadranensis Romolo owned by Ms J & Mr D Moore & Tricomi. He showed very well indeed for his owners.
Because we were the last classes to be judged, Tigger had to do his group lap of honour at the end of the Hounds rather that the beginning but we made it.

At Bath the imports were judged by R. James and it was quite a mixed bag too with Hounds and Utility together.
Best Puppy and Reserve best dog was Anharbn White Tiger and best dog was awarded to a very nice Utility Dog who was Best Import.
Anharbn White Wedding won the Puppy bitch class.
Mr H M & Mrs A M Pontin's Eindackel Elenwe del Breuddwydni was 2nd Junior bitch so just the three Cirnechi at Bath.

Considering that the Import classes were in the Best in Show ring which was situated in the centre of the showground, I think the ruling that crates not allowed near the ringside is very inconsiderate of the society when our benching was across the field in the furthest tent. How are you expected to change dogs unless you have them near the ringside. For a person handling two or more dogs without an assistant, a crate is a necessity. I am quite sure that waiting for an exhibitor to go back to the benches change dogs and run back across the field to the ring would not have been accepted by the judge or other exhibitors. Come on, we pay the same entry fee as everyone else without CC's and get a raw deal as it is without being shoved out of sight in a far corner of a tent, miles away from our ring.

On a brighter note, the Euroshow in Dublin is upon us and Carla Molinari has drawn an entry of 13 Cirnechi. Should be very interesting but taking part is going to be fun no matter what the results are, these will be in the next breednotes unless you beat me to it, online.
